The textbook “Technical English Language for Mechanical Engineering I” is intended for first-year undergraduate students of professional studies of Mechanical Engineering, Power Engineering and Electronics who enroll in the course Technical English Language I in the first semester of their studies. It can also be used by other students of related university and professional studies. The textbook contains seven units. Using technical and academic English students practice all language skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking. Through the analysis of general technical texts, as well as those closely related to the field of mechanical engineering, students develop the ability to read and understand technical texts, and independently interpret the offered content. The texts cover a wide range of general concepts in engineering, including understanding and use of mathematical expressions, symbols, geometric bodies and formulas, technology and tools, new fuel sources in the automotive industry, the classification of properties of materials, cooling and heating systems, the most important technological achievements in in the field of mechanical engineering, the use of computers in manufacture and engineering, and discuss the issue of social, economic and environmental sustainability.
