KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

Olinka Breka
University of Zagreb

Olinka Breka is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, University of Zagreb where she teaches the following courses: Technical English for students of mechanical engineering, Technical English for students of aeronautical engineering and Business Communication Skills in English. She holds an MSc in English teaching methodology and a PhD in interdisciplinary humanistic studies from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb.

Hilary Nesi
Coventry University, UK

Hilary Nesi is a Professor of English Language at Coventry University,UK. Her research activities mostly concern the discourse of English for academic purposes, and the design and use of dictionaries and reference tools.

Darija Omrčen
University of Zagreb

Darija Omrčen is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Kinesiology University of Zagreb (Croatia) where she teaches English and German for Specific Purposes in the domain of the science of human movement. Some of her research foci are sports terminology, LSP acquisition, LSP teaching, testing in LSP, communication in sport-related domains, etc.

Plenary talks will be given in English.

Call for Presenters

We welcome talks that present theoretical and practical insights into the field of LSP including research studies, case reports, project presentations, reports on teaching methods, commentaries and opinions. After a turbulent period of the pandemic in which we engaged in online teaching  and gained new and different experiences, we also expect talks addressing the topic of distance teaching and learning that can fit into the thematic areas of the conference listed below.

The book of abstracts will be available at the conference. Selected proceedings will be published after the conference (only papers assessed positively through a double-blind peer view process and approved by the editorial board will be published in the Book of Proceedings).

Cancellation policy

A 50 % refund can be granted if notification of cancellation has been submitted before 31 January 2021. No refund is possible for requests submitted after this date. Refund requests will be processed after the conference and can be submitted to: lsp.teachers.conference@gmail.com.
